Pisa: Born in Catania in 1935, he graduated in 1958 in Mathematical sciences and moved to Pisa the following year where he worked on the CEP project in the logical mathematics group at CSCE. He became a professor at the University of Siena in 1984.

Since 1993 he has been a professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Siena, where he has been actively involved.

The various research fi elds he has been in include numerical calculation and computer assisted learning. He is the coordinator of GDL Informatica e Didattica dellAica, and is also a member of the board of directors. He is a member of the board at Cineca and Consorzio Nettuno, and on scientifi c committees of several scientifi c journals.
