Costa: "Congratulazioni ai Carabineri Noe e ai cittadini attivi contro i reati ambientali"

Roma - "Mi congratulo vivamente con i Carabinieri del NOE (Nucleo Operativo Ecologico) di Milano e con i Carabinieri del Comando provinciale di Milano per l’importante risultato ottenuto con l’operazione messa in atto nel capannone industriale di Cornaredo". Così il Ministro dell’Ambiente Sergio Costa si è complimentato con i militari dell’Arma per la scoperta di un sito abusivo dove erano stoccati circa 1.200 metri cubi di rifiuti, composti in particolare di materie plastiche, tale da potersi ipotizzare oltre alla realizzazione di una discarica abusiva, anche un’attività illecita di gestione, raccolta e smaltimento di rifiuti speciali. L’operazione ha portato al sequestro del sito e all’arresto di due persone.

"Mi rende particolarmente felice – ha precisato Costa - la notizia che questa importante operazione sia scaturita dalle segnalazioni dei cittadini preoccupati dall’insolito traffico di mezzi pesanti che transitavano in quell’area. Questo dimostra con chiarezza che i cittadini attenti e interessati al loro territorio sono i primi difensori dell’Ambiente. Sono un patrimonio che va supportato e incentivato attraverso l’ascolto e l’attenzione da parte delle forze dell’ordine. La lotta ai criminali inquinatori - ha concluso il ministro – si può vincere solo quando Stato e cittadini collaborano con responsabilità e tempestività, come in questo caso virtuoso".
