ESA - Non sono nuovi ai collegamenti radio amatoriali gli studenti del liceo “Adelaide Cairoli“ di Pavia, che martedì 9 ottobre parleranno con l’astronauta NASA Sunita Williams attualmente a bordo della Stazione Spaziale Internazionale (ISS).
Gli studenti di questo liceo statale infatti, di età compresa tra i 14 ed i 18 anni, partecipano già alle attività del Radio Club istituito presso la scuola per dare ai ragazzi l’opportunità di parlare con le altre stazioni radio amatoriali sparse in tutto il mondo, utilizzando diverse lingue straniere. I docenti ritengono che la radio sia un potente mezzo didattico applicabile alle attività scolastiche di tutti i giorni.
Questa volta tuttavia il collegamento sarà ancora più emozionante. Gli studenti potranno porre le loro domande all’astronauta Sunita Williams, della NASA, che da metà luglio è a bordo della Stazione orbitante insieme ad altri 5 membri dell’equipaggio internazionale della ISS ed il suo rientro a terra è previsto per il prossimo mese di novembre.
Sunita risponderà alle domande sugli esperimenti che si svolgono in microgravità per capire meglio e trovare rimedio alle malattie dell’uomo, parlerà di come si vive in assenza di gravità e delle sue personali esperienze ed emozioni, di come si calcola l’ora a bordo della ISS indipendentemente dai fusi orari, della tecnologia per tenersi in contatto con la famiglia, di ARISS.
