Sbarca al Festival della Musica di Mantova il folk-rock travolgente dei Folkabbestia

I Folkabbestia e i Ratti della Sabina arrivano al Festival della Musica di Mantova con il loro carico di folk-rock goliardico e divertente.
I Folkabbestia si esibiranno venerdì 5 marzo al teatro Ariston (via principe Amedeo, 20). Il loro set durerà quindici minuti. Tra i brani in scaletta ci sarà “Alla manifestazione”, inno alla partecipazione in piazza senza alcun tono di militanza cupa, ma i ’freaks italiani’ promettono una sorpresa.
Il gruppo pugliese è attualmente impegnato in un tour di fine inverno-inizio primavera per promuovere ’Non è mai troppo tardi per avere un’infanzia felice’, l’ultimo album pubblicato nel 2003 per UPR/Edel.
La band, composta da Lorenzo Mannarini (voce e chitarra), Piero Santoro (fisarmonica), Francesco Fiore (basso elettrico), Nicola De Liso (batteria) e Fabio- Losito (violino), è entrata lo scorso novembre nel Guinness dei Primati per aver eseguito l’esibizione musicale più lunga del mondo, suonando la stessa canzone per 30 ore di fila all’Auditorium Demetrio Stratos di Radio Popolare, a Milano. Il brano che ha proposto in infinite interpretazioni è «Styla Lollo Manna», tratta dal primo album “Se la rosa non si chiamerebbe rosa”.
Sabato 6 marzo, sempre al Teatro Ariston, sarà la volta dei Ratti della Sabina. La band di Rieti recupera la musica popolare (soprattutto- quella tradizionale del Lazio) legandola alla canzone d’autore e alla patchanka, già portata al successo dai Modena City Ramblers e da Manu Chao. Il tutto filtrato con un atteggiamento ironico che si sposta decisamente dallo stereotipo del genere.
I Ratti della Sabina hanno all’attivo due album, “Cantiecontrocantiincantina” (2001,UPR) e “Circobirò” (2003, UPR).
“Circòbirò” è stato pubblicato a novembre dello scorso anno e arriva dopo una lunga serie di concerti- in tutta la penisola. Il disco vive di queste esperienze messe in musica attraverso canzoni e- tarantelle, in acustico e in elettrico, che si fondono nel nome del folkrock caloroso e spontaneo senza mediazioni; l’intenzione è quella di rappresentare storie “minori”, sogni con la lente del ’sociale’.
Molti gli ospiti che hanno partecipato a “Circobirò”, tra gli altri- spiccano i duetti con Cisco dei Modena City Ramblers (nel brano “Il Mercante”) e Marino Severini dei Gang (nella canzone “L’uomo che piantava gli alberi”).
