SCUOLA AERONAUTICA CHIAMA ISS: CONTATTO! (ARISS) RISPONDE THOMAS MARSHBURN

Si conclude bene la settimana per gli studenti della scuola aeronautica di Bari ’Euclide’ che sabato 27 aprile saranno in contatto radio con Tom Marshburn, attualmente residente sulla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale.

Grazie ad AMSAT ed ARISS, l’associazione internazionale radio amatori sulla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale (ISS), i liceali dell’Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore ’Euclide’ di Bari potranno rivolgere all’astronauta della NASA domande sulla vita in microgravità.

Le domande sono piuttosto mirate, dato che tra le materie di studio della scuola ci sono, oltre alle classiche di base, aerotecnica, sistemi radio e radar, navigazione aerea, comunicazione e comunicazioni spaziali.

Scopriremo come ci si sente a fluttuare nello spazio e quali sono le fasi più delicate di una missione spaziale. Apprenderemo quali sono le ricadute tecnologiche per il futuro grazie alla ricerca in microgravità. Inoltre, come funziona la Stazione Spaziale Internazionale e quali esperimenti sono ora in corso nei laboratori in orbita, il loro scopo e l’utilità, ed i rischi di un’uscita (o passeggiata) spaziale, detta anche EVA da Extra Vehicular Activity.

Marshburn è partito il 19 dicembre 2012 dalla base di Baikonour, in Kazakistan, a bordo di una Soyuz TMA-07M ed è attualmente residente sulla Stazione Spaziale Internazionale come membro della Spedizione 34/35, insieme all’attuale Comandante Chris Hadfield dell’Agenzia Spaziale Canadese ed al cosmonauta russo Roman Romanenko. Il suo rientro a terra è previsto in maggio.

Queste iniziative sono organizzate nell’ambito del programma educativo internazionale ARISS, (Amateur Radio on International Space Station), e coordinate, in Italia, dall’AMSAT Italia.
