Xylella: aggiornato l’elenco delle piante ospiti

L'EFSA ha aggiornato la propria banca dati delle piante segnalate come ospiti del patogeno delle piante Xylella fastidiosa, presente in Europa dall’ottobre 2013.

L'elenco aggiornato è costituito da 359 specie vegetali, ospiti sia per via naturale sia per inoculo sperimentale, appartenenti a 204 generi e 75 famiglie botaniche. Comprende 44 nuove specie, 2 nuovi ibridi, 15 nuovi generi e 5 famiglie nuove. La maggior parte delle nuove specie (il 70%) è stata individuata nel sud Italia (Puglia), in Corsica e nella Francia meridionale (regione Provenza-Alpi-Costa Azzurra).

La banca dati è stata arricchita grazie a un’approfondita ricerca bibliografica che ha inteso cogliere tutti gli sviluppi scientifici emersi sull’argomento dopo la pubblicazione dell’elenco originario nell’aprile 2015. Ulteriori aggiornamenti verranno pubblicati periodicamente sul sito web dell'EFSA. La banca dati è di ausilio ai gestori del rischio nell’attuare attività di sorveglianza e altre misure fitosanitarie, come ad esempio le ispezioni su piante destinate alla messa a dimora.
